Additive Drives wins the German Innovation Award!
Additive Drives wins the German Innovation Award 2025 for the development of innovative, highly efficient and powerful electric motors using 3D printing. The prize is awarded annually on the initiative of Wirtschaftswoche, Handelsblatt, O2 Telefonica and Accenture.
This year, in addition to Additive Drives, David Reger, founder and CEO of the Metzingen-based robotics company Neura Robotics, was named Innovator of the Year, Entec-Stracon with a new manufacturing technology for wheels and the chip manufacturer Infineon for the production of new wafers in the semiconductor industry.
The prize was presented at the Dampfdom in Munich by the editorial teams of Handelsblatt and Wirtschaftswoche. The two founders Axel Helm and Philipp Arnold accepted the award on behalf of the team together with Marketing Manager Lukas Günther.
Philipp Arnold made Additive Drives’ vision clear at the award ceremony: “We don’t just want to become the global market leader for 3D-printed electric motors, but for all customer-specific electric motors.”
The award means a great deal to us as a company and recognizes the team’s pioneering work: our motors enable the electrification of completely new industries – for example in electric aviation. Here, electric motors are raised to a new, significantly higher level through 3D printing and not only achieve the highest levels of efficiency, but also power densities of up to 35 kW/kg.
